Yeonsoo Kim is an associate professor with the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations. Kim previously served as a public relations concentration coordinator at James Madison University and a faculty associate at the Center for Faculty Innovation.
Her research focuses on strategic communication and management of corporate social responsibility, public relations, corporate social advocacy, reputation management, and crisis/issue management. Dr. Kims published articles can be found in leading public relations and business ethics journals including the Journal of Public Relations, Public Relations Review, the Journal of Business Ethics, Public Relations Journal, Corporate Communication: An International Journal, the Asian Journal of Public Relations, among others.
She is the associate editor of the Korean Journal of Communication and an editorial board member of major journals such as the Journal of Public Relations Research and the Asian Journal of Public Relations. She is also the director of the Strategic Social Responsibility and Communication Lab and serves as the vice president of the Korean-American Communication Association (KACA).
With her professional experience in the public relations industry, Kim founded and served as a director of student-run public relations agencies at two previous institutions. She is an Accredited Public Relations professional and has received statewide public relations awards in Virginia.
