Hemeyer teaches communication management and public relations strategies. He also teaches crisis management in the Rice University Jones School MBA program. He has extensive experience in corporate, litigation and financial communication; advertising; media, government, employee and community relations; consumer marketing and segmentation; and crisis management. He has been a senior executive for a Fortune 150 company and was the top communications executive for an international consumer company. He has been an executive VP for Edelman Worldwide, served in the U.S. Air Force, was selected for the rank of colonel and received the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. Recently Hemeyer's corporate team placed second to ESPN in PR Week's "large corporate communication team of the year" competition. He has been named Practitioner of the Year by the Texas PR Association, a "Pioneer" by the USAF Public Affairs Association and holds the "Eyes of Texas" award for his service to the University of Texas. He presently serves on the advisory council to the College of Communication and has chaired the council in past years. He also serves as senior counsel to Pierpont Communications in Houston, Austin and Dallas and, is a member of the Authur W. Page Society. Terry's education includes the Stanford University graduate business school executive program, a M.A. in communication from the University of Denver and a B.S. in education from The Ohio State University.
