Bob May is the KPMG Centennial Professor of Accounting at The University of Texas at Austin. He joined the faculty in June 1979, after holding appointments at the University of Washington as Assistant and Associate Professor of Accounting (1970-1979) and Director of the Ph.D. Program in Business (1974-1977). He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1970. Dr. May's career accomplishments include: co-winner of the AICPA Notable Contribution to the Accounting Literature Award (1976); author and co-author of numerous articles and six textbooks; co-developer of licensed and published educational software products; Associate Editor of "The Accounting Review;" local and national teaching and teaching innovation awards; Eyes of Texas Award (1997); twice Chairman of the Department of Accounting (1980-1984 and 1988-1992); Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (1992-1995); Interim Dean (1995-1996); appointed Dean, June 15, 1996; national elective offices within the American Accounting Association; member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (the accreditation agency for business and accounting programs); Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Washington Campus (private educational institution in Washington D.C.); member of the Board of Directors of Guaranty Preferred Capital Corporation; listed in "Who's Who in America",
