Maytal Dahan
Maytal Dahan is the Director of Advanced Computing Interfaces overseeing the Web and Mobile Applications and the Cloud and Interactive Computing groups. Dahan joined TACC in August 2002 as a Software Developer. She is co-PI of the Science Gateways Computing Institute managing the Scientific Software Collaborative group. She is involved in several software projects that develop Science Gateways and backed Gateway supporting infrastructure. Dahan and her team use technology to build tools that help advance science. Her team supports a wide variety of scientists and researchers across multiple domains natural hazards, epidemiology, humanities, plenary science, and more to create solutions that help them achieve scientific advancement via web technologies and APIs more effectively. Projects such as the UT Austin COVID-19 Consortium site are such an example of using web technologies to help advance and promote science to the community. Her team of over 30 software engineers, developers, devOps, project managers and support staff work on over 20 different projects with over $100M of funding from various agencies including the NSF, NIH, private funding and more.
