John Morán González's field of study is Mexican American and Latino literary studies. He is author of "Border Renaissance: The Texas Centennial and the Emergence of Mexican American Literature" and "The Troubled Union: Expansionist Imperatives in Post-Reconstruction American Novels". He is editor of "The Cambridge Companion to Latina/o American Literature," published by Cambridge University Press in 2016.
González is also affiliated with the Institute for Latin American Studies (LLILAS), Center for Women and Gender Studies and the comparative literature program, and he holds courtesy appointments within the Department of Mexican American and Latino Studies and the Department of American Studies.
