Dr. Erin Rodríguez studies family, sociocultural, and contextual influences on children's development and health outcomes, with a focus on understanding and reducing health disparities affecting low-SES Latinx youth. Within this program of work, her current projects include 1) an RCT testing a culturally responsive coping skills and self-management intervention for low-SES Latinx families of children with asthma; 2) a study examining parental and family adjustment to pediatric cancer; 3) a longitudinal investigation of bilingual language development, coping, and mental health outcomes in low-SES Latinx youth; and 4) a mixed-methods, community-based research partnership (CBPR) to examine provider and family experiences of integrated behavioral health in primary care.
Dr. Rodríguez's work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NCI, NICHD, NIMHD) as well as the St. David's Foundation Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research (CHPR) and the Society of Pediatric Psychology.
Dr. Rodríguez will be considering applications for new doctoral students for Fall 2025.
