Cory Juhl, Professor of Philosophy, specializes in philosophy of science and the philosophy of mind. Recent publications have included papers on the foundations of inductive methodology in the sciences and computational learning theory; the inadequacy of computational models of consciousness; an objection to 'context-sensitive' solutions to the liar paradox; and theories of meaning according to which the process of evolution explains our capacity to have meaningful thoughts. Current work includes papers concerning: The fine-tuning arguments; whether semantic relations are scientifically or metaphysically explicable, and if not, why not.
