Manuel J Justiz
Dr. Justiz was the director of the National Institute of Education for the U.S. Department of Education from 1983 to 1985. He was the senior consultant for the Education Commission of the States (ECS) National Task Force on Minority Achievement from 1989 to 1990. He was a contributor to "A Nation at Risk", a report produced by the National Commission on Excellence in Education for the nation and the Secretary of Education in 1983. He was the author, co-author or editor of numerous books, book chapters and articles on minorities in education, partnerships between education, businesses and schools, improving education through research and higher education policy. He was the Martin Luther King - Rosa Parks Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence, University of Michigan in 1989. He is an expert in legal issues/legislation in education, minority issues in education and the community college systems.
