Kenneth Flamm
Also a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., Dr. Flamm served as the DoD official responsible for dual use technology policy and international technology and procurement cooperation from 1993 to 1995. He was awarded the Department's Distinguished Public Service Medal by the Secretary of Defense. The author of numerous articles and books on trade, investment, and industrial organization in high tech industries, Flamm authored "Mismanaged Trade? Strategic Policy and the Semiconductor Industry" (Brookings, 1996), and is currently completing a book on the post-Cold War defense industry. Flamm has served as advisor to the Mexican Ministry of Finance and as consultant to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Bank, the National Academy of Sciences, the Latin American Economic System, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. CongressOffice of Technology Assessment. He has also served on expert advisory panels of the National Science Foundation, the National Research Council, the Defense Science Board, the NATO Science Committee, the Federal Networking Council and the Office of Technology Assessment.
