Gaylen Paulson is associate dean and director of Texas Executive Education at the McCombs School of Business. He is also a senior lecturer in the Management Department. His research and teaching focus on the strategic aspects of human interaction, such as negotiation, conflict management, persuasion and interpersonal communication.
Paulson's consulting and executive training programs frequently highlight negotiation skills, leadership and strategic influence. They have been sponsored by a wide variety of organizations such as 3M, Bayer, British Petroleum, Dell, Ernst & Young, HEB, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, the National Council of State Housing Agencies, NPR, Pfizer, Shell, Texas Instruments and the U.S. Army, just to name a few.
Paulson's expertise includes: processes involving confrontation; resisting and overcoming resistance to persuasion; negotiation strategies; the impact of electronic communication on performance; and perceptions of threats and warnings in the workplace.
