Ari Adut's On Scandal: Moral Disturbances in Society, Politics, and Art was published by Cambridge University Press in 2008. This book received an Honorable Mention for the 2009 Mary Douglas Prize for Best Book in Sociology of Culture. Dr. Adut is currently writing a book on political violence. His other research interests include the public sphere, commodification, and censorship. Dr. Adut's research has been published in American Journal of Sociology and Theory and Society, and it has received support from the Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies.
