Tracie Harrison is a professor of Adult Health Nursing. Her research focuses on aging with disabilities. She is interested in the intersection between age-related change and functional impairment and how that affects social role performance and subsequent health outcomes in women. Her research has been conducted using primarily qualitative research methods, which means she mainly uses in-person interview methods to collect data on how women perceive their aging experiences. Dr. Harrison's teaching interests include women's health, qualitative research, disability over the life course, and health within illness.

Dr. Harrison is also the director of the Center for Excellence in Long Term Care, funded by the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. Visit the Center for Excellence in Long Term Care website to learn more.
