John J Sampson
Professor Sampson has been at The University of Texas Law School since 1970. A leading expert on Texas family law, Sampson also teaches legislative process. One-half of his academic workload is spent teaching the Children's Rights Clinic, which provides attorney ad litem representation for abused and neglected children in lawsuits filed by Children's Protective Services in Travis County. He is co-author of Sampson & Tindall's Texas Family Code Annotated (West 13th Ed., 2003). He has authored many articles on Family Law, and has served as the editor of the State Bar Family Law Section Report since 1976 (circulation approximately 5,000). Professor Sampson has been extensively involved in family law legislation in Texas over the past quarter century. He is the Reporter for the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act 1990-to date; Reporter Uniform Parentage Act 1997-to date; and draftsman of innumerable provisions in Texas Family Code.
