Amarante L Lucero
With a career that spans over 25 years, Professor Lucero, a designer and theatre consultant, has designed both nationally and internationally. Among his international experience, are credits in France, Israel, Scotland, and Indonesia. He works extensively in Central and South America with groups such as Costa Rica's La Compania National De Danza, International Festival De Teatro Por La Paz In Costa Rica and Compania National De Danza In Ecuador.
Additionally, he has taught master classes in Venezuela, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Costa Rica and Ecuador. Nationally, he has designed for the Old Globe Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, and at the Lincoln Center in New York City. A Fulbright Scholar, A Grace Hill Milam Fellow, and a Ducloux Fellow, Professor Lucero's research focuses on automated lighting, cyberspace and using the digital world in design and production. As Head of Automated Lighting Program, he and his students have toured both nationally and internationally. Winner of The Circle Critics Award for Best Lighting Design for the premier production of The Yellow Boat, he has been recognized several time for "Excellence" in lighting design.
